Pai Gow Poker is a Chinese domino game, which is very popular amongst many gaming fans.
Pai Gow Poker is played with a deck of cards totaling 53; this hand also includes a joker. The game itself uses a one on one approach and the player plays against the banker. Those involved compete in order to create the best possible hands.
Pao Gow Poker is less intense than many of the games the casino has to offer and have a lot of ties, which makes it quite a slow paced game. A modest buy in can therefore usually last a long time.
The play begins by making a bet. Everyone involved receives a total of seven cards. In order to determine which player is to receive the first set of cards, the dice is rolled.
The player must then put his or her cards into order; this should be in the shape of a five-card hand and also a two-card hand.
The five-card hand is ranked as in poker and pairs beating two single cards score the two-card hand. The highest possible two-card hand comes in the form of a pair of aces and the lowest possible score is 3-2.
Once the game is in play, the player’s five-card hand is compared to that of the dealer’s five-card hand. The player with the highest hand is the one with the winning hand.
Just as above, the player’s two-card hand is also compared to that of the dealer’s two-card hand.
If an exact match between both the dealer’s and the player’s hands was to occur then the tie goes to the banker. This is called a copy.
If the player is to win on both hands then he or she will win even money. However if the player is to lose both hands, they will in turn lose the entire wager placed.
